Writer's Spell Jar

Written By: Momma Funch

  1. Cleanse your jar using whatever method you like (I used visualization). Light your candle.
  2. If you wrote a Sigil, write it on your Bay Leaf and burn the Bay Leaf (use the ashes from this point forward).
If you didn't write a Sigil, either burn or tear-up the Bay Leaf and use the remnants moving forward.
  3. Add all the ingredients to a bowl (can be your Cauldron) and stir Clockwise however many times feels right. I always use my Athame to stir my ingredients, but you can use a Wand or even just your hand. It's up to you.
  4. Add the ingredients to your jar, using a funnel if necessary. Concentrate on the feeling of success, inspiration, and budding creativity as you add them. I like to spend some time holding my jar to add more of my own Energy to it.
  5. Close the jar and seal it with wax from the candle.
  6. Keep your jar closeby as you write. It's best to keep it where you can see it, but placing it in your desk drawer can work. Look to your jar when you're feeling stuck and you'll be rewarded with a feeling of creativity and reminded of the passion you once felt for your project.

Sigil I used: "I am worthy of being a writer" > 459296257

I keep this jar next to my notebook and I've had moderate success with it. I'm not always in the mood to write, so turning to it when I'm like that gives me mixed feelings.
